   Everything was perfect, excellent Zero dosage Champagne, delicious meal, and everybody was so kind. We recommend, no doubt !

   We always make reservations for dinner here when staying at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. The food is delicious. The chef prepares the dishes perfectly. This time we had the beef and the fish dishes. Both were delicious. The service is exceptional. Staff are friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The views are spectacular. We never feel rushed. It is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy good food.

   Service was outstanding- wine pairing with the course was wonderful. They even switched out a white with a red for me. Duck plate a little tough which was disappointing and the miso soup lacked flavor. The rest of the plates very well done and we enjoyed.

   Phenomenal view. Love the sommelier. Cocktails delicious and they honored our anniversary which was very sweet….But you can’t have a tasting menu and overcook the main courses including the fish and the braised short rib. It has to be cooked to perfection. No if ands or buts about it. Both were overcooked and for a restaurant on the Michelin guide and of this caliber it just can’t happen.

   The experience at Coastal Kitchen is special. Rachel is an amazing server and somm who lead us on a beautiful journey throughout the evening with the tasting menu. We included the wine pairing and the truffle pasta course addition. 10/10 no notes… it was exceptional. As for ambiance, doesn’t get much better and we got lucky to have virtually a private dining experience as there were only another 2-3 tables on a Thursday evening. Will be on our itinerary every time we visit Monterey in the future.

   We came here for Sunday brunch to celebrate a birthday. From the first interaction at the hostess stand, we were warmly welcomed and celebrated for the occasion. The staff took exceptional care of us and the food was delicious. The pricing ($75 pp) was a bit steep for two courses and some sides (+ chamoagne), but the experience itself was wonderful. We had a gorgeous harbor view next to the window and the bincloculara provided were a fantastic touch. We saw lots of sea life and it was a very memorable meal and experience. Thank you to Rachel for the fantastic service.

    The ambiance and the view are the main event here. The wine tour was worth the money - we discovered several new favorite wines that we never would have otherwise tried. The food did not always “wow” us, it was delicious but not life-altering-ly so. They offered a vegetarian tasting menu for me and the standard for my husband. The bread is very good.
