Where we invite you to journey into a place of both intimacy and companionship
Our concept is drawn from our name. The word “cloak” implies secrecy, inspiring our concept of a social sphere humming beneath the levels of ordinary life. “Petal” alludes to the Japanese tradition of “hanami,” when family and friends gather under blooming cherry blossoms to savor food, drinks and fellowship.
Enter our space and travel underground to décor reminiscent of an abandoned Tokyo subway, a stratum of society all its own, an artist’s dream. Cross the threshold into a mystically transformed Japanese social dining lounge which appears to be an outdoor seating area, similar to a waiting platform. Sit beneath a trellis of draping vines and teardrop lights in the intimate space we’ve thoughtfully created, and feast on authentic Japanese sushi, appetizers, small plates and drinks with family and friends.

They are very good at filling waters. I would finish my water and more would magically appear. 10/10 would go again for water experience.

Way too noisy. Names of dishes were stupid… I suppose intended to be hip. Food was excellent though. Superb uni and nicely done sashimi selection.

My daughter, her bestie and I went for a little birthday celebration 🎉. It was our first time at Cloak & Petal so we were really excited about being there. We loved the ambiance and the music. The crowd was a good vibe too but the service wasn't as enthusiastic as we had hoped it to be for a birthday celebration. I still tipped the 18% but It was just okay... kind of like the food. My daughter and I both had a Bushido roll and it wasn't the best flavor. The miso soup wasn't very flavorful either. We were kind of bummed. The mocktails that my daughter and her friend ordered were great and my Shirley temple was delish. The presentation of the drinks were pretty sweet. We also really enjoyed the matcha creme brulee. I ordered x3. The presentation of that dessert was also really sweet but when my daughter the Bday girl went to the restroom, one of the bussers took my daughters creme brulee away from the table and she wasn't even half way finished with it. That really bummed us out. We spent almost $200 so we had hoped to at least be able to finish our dessert. 🤷🏻‍♀️Overall 3 stars for food service and pricing. But 5 stars for the crowd vibes, music and ambiance. I'm not sure we will go back. But we enjoyed the atmosphere. Take care! 🫶🏼

This was quite possibly the best experience we’ve ever had we came here once through just walk in we said we’d come back another time with a reservation and this time around it was even better having that reservation the service was amazing the food amazing the ambiance amazing staff are all friendly server was beyond amazing 10000000/10 would recommend for anyone to go here

Look, it’s really good food and really good service, but I went there, got some cocktails with my wife and a couple sushi rolls plus tip was legitimately $175. Just not worth it with club music playing trying to enjoy food with any sort of conversation. If I want these vibes I can pay $40 and hit up like any Mexican venue. Either be fancy or a spot to get hammered, please not both
