Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.

The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.

In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

I do love this place. But today was frustrating. We were not asked for our order or to get anything started until we had been sitting for at least 25 minutes. We were not having cocktails and we were there with our small family. The restaurant wasn’t full. When our server finally asked (after we had tried for a while to locate him), and we gave a bit of frustration when starting to order, he had quite the attitude. He wouldn’t look at us. He slammed our bread plate and drinks down. I needed a refill, he brought me the wrong drink. Then we saw mine sitting on the bar area for about fifteen minutes before he picked it up to bring it over (just a Diet Coke!) If it was just slow service that would have been one thing, but the attitude ruined our meal. The food however was good.

Lovely oysters and bubbles and the manager is so wonderful! The patio has shades and fans as well. Always a good experience.
