   This is my favorite restaurant in DC so far. The mashup of Chinese, Japanese, and Peruvian cuisine is a true food adventure! All the dishes are expertly and exquisitely executed - and delicious! I just can’t say enough good things!

   Overall good experience. Our server was very nice and willing to answer questions. Food was good but pricey which is what we expected. We were happy we chose China Chilcano.

   Food is delicious, prepared well, and served hot. Service is excellent, even when the restaurant is packed with hockey fans.

   Our server (who never even gave us his name) was not very attentive or polite, which I think greatly affected our experience at the restaurant. We've visited several José Andrés Group restaurants, so we know the restaurants are known for exceptional service paired with fantastic food. The server did not explain any of the dishes, even though he knew (because he had asked upon being seated) that it was our first time at this particular restaurant and we'd overhear him enthusiastically explain dishes to the table next us. When the restaurant ran out of an item we'd ordered for dessert, we were just sent something else to our table without prior explanation. When asked about it, the server's response was "they ran out I guess". We left quite underwhelmed and confused, which is not the typical experience after dining at a José Andrés restaurant.

   We chose the theater menu, which we've had before. Love the choices available and portion sizes. Our waiter interceded for us to switch out a dessert with the main menu, which was a really nice gesture. Food is excellent!!
