   If you can only go to one restaurant on trip through North Florida make sure it’s Chez L’Amour. Fantastic food and wonderful live music. Don’t miss the savory beignets and the minorcan bisque as starters ! The Waygu beef sliders were outstanding and only outdone by the scalllops. A diverse and changing seasonal menu with local produce and seafood . Don’t miss it!

   What a gem! My lover and I chose to have our Sunday date night dinner there before exploring the wonder of the Nights of Lights. Parking downtown is typically a nightmare with all the festivities, but they have a patking lot adjacent to the restaurant. We were thrilled to see ample spots available! Upon our arrival inside, we were met with smiling faces, and sat immediately in the charming, beautiful “big city vibes” dining room, while a smooth jazz guitarist serenaded the crowd! Jo whipped up some of the best mocktails we have ever had. Kenny and AJ explained the global tapas menu, and exemplified hospitality at its finest, for the course of our experience there tonight! Chef Ellie came into the dining room to say hello, and that girl’s smile just lights up a room. Her food is as winning as that smile! We are like kings; Salmon Carpaccio, Ahi Tuna Nachos, Tandori Califlower, seared scallops, A5 Wagyu New York Strip, to name a few. It’s refreshing to eat food that is perfectly seasoned, and artistically plated! Sorry, no pics. Sunday date night is unplugged, so our phones remained in the car. We enjoy our company! Rest assured, we ate every morsel, and took home a delectable cheesecake for a late night snack 🫣 Important dining notes; although we do not drink, it is a 21+ jazz club. Also, I recommend dressing “first date ready”. There are a few clothing restrictions, but we were prepared for this bc we read the reservation notes where these were spelled out! Menu isn’t cheap, by any stretch, but absolutely SO worth every dollar spent! It’s essentially amazing dinner, AND a show! Don’t walk there, run!

   We made our reservation and chose Chef Ellie's 5-course tasting menu. It was worth every dime. She actually came out and presented each dish herself which was a huge plus for us. All ingredients are fresh and we would love to invade her spice rack/pantry. We didn't find any dish lacking in how it was prepared or tasted. It felt like a journey that kept getting better and better. We were sad when it ended. We definitely will do the tasting menu again when she changes the dishes for the season. Another great aspect to this fine dining establishment is the menu does change. Interior, ambience and decor is suave and sultry. To us, it felt like a high-class speakeasy. The live entertainment was great. The female singer has an awesome voice and the male musician knew how to jam on his instruments. Really great vibe and synergy going on here. Kendall our hostess was warm and kind. Joseph who also served us did a magnificent job. His wine recommendation for the tasting menu was spot on. We wish all of our encounters with restaurant staff were this awesome. Outstanding food and great service made for a truly exceptional night! Thank you Chef Ellie, Kendal and Joseph!!!

   Our waiter, Joey, made the whole dining experience so fun. He was very engaging, funny and knew the food. As for the food, our favorites were the sliders, mussels and flatbread. However, the best thing we ate was the dessert called The Ponce- it was truly delicious and decadent! A must!!!

   Restaurant has nice ambiance and decor but not for a romantic night out. Great music. Seating was awful - Tables set-up right next to entryway/dance floor to squeeze more patrons, people are dancing right over your dining table! Tasty but overpriced; limited selection. Our server neglected us; drinks & water empty continuously unless we flagged her down & requested refills.

   Special night as it was my wife’s birthday. Chez L’amour did not disappoint! Our first time being there and it will not be the last! The food, service, ambiance and entertainment were all top notch! We already are looking forward to our next dining experience there.

   I’d say the best restaurant in town! The food is creative, distinctive, varied and absolutely delicious. We started with the beignets which had favors and a sauce that simply melted in your mouth. Every dish was “the winner” but my veggie platter had me humming with every bite. The atmosphere is beyond charming and the staff could not have been more attentive. By far, my St. Augustine favorite!!

    Sabor exquisito.. ambiente con música muy buena, la chica q nos atendió nos dio buenas recomendaciones lo único debió estar más atenta a limpiar mesa rápido… pero por lo demás el restaurante es buenísimo si quieres probar diferentes sabores sin llenarte demasiado
