Focusing predominately on fresh local seafood with a French, Lowcountry flare, Charlie’s is the place for good food, good wine and unforgettable memories all enjoyed in a quaint French country atmosphere.

A Savannah native, Charlie Golson’s interest in the French language and culture took him to Paris. After a long stint in the fast paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, he was ready to move back closer to home. It was at that time he was able to open up a one room French bistro. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is hand written daily. Resort Casual.

Our “go to” restaurant everytime we visit HHI! We had the scallops and sheepshead fish. Both were fantastic! Jody, was very helpful with the menu and the wine selection (Fr. Burgundy). The service was “spot on”! Each entree was served timely but did not feel rushed. A very quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

Always excellent--what else can I say. I've enjoyed the islands best food since you had to go through the kitchen to get to the restroom (Old location).

Everything was terrific. Our server, Tisha, was great and instantly bonded with our 3 grandchildren (all under 4). You can never go wrong with Charlie's

One of many occasions where dinner at Charlie's made for a fabulous, festive evening. As always, every single fish dish was perfect. Server Lucas made excellent suggestions and interjected humorous comments, adding to the fun. Many thanks.

The food was outstanding ! My husband had the duck and I had the redfish on risotto. Both entrees came with a delicious salad . The caramel cake for dessert was really special, it reminded me of me of my grandmother’s southern baking .. Ask for Michelle , her service was OUTSTANDING !

Perhaps the best restaurant on Hilton Head. The chef is creative and it is one of the few places covid that provides pre covid service. Charlies' was located in Charleston it would get the praise it deservs.
