   The Christmas buffet brunch was as spectacular as promised. I enjoyed all of the dishes that I tried, and the cocktail that I ordered was delicious as well. My one quibble with the service was that we didn’t see our waitperson for a spell after we were seated, so it wasn’t initially clear what we should do about beverages. It was a small hiccup in an otherwise smoothly-running operation.

   It was an overpriced buffet. I liked it better when they had serving stations instead of one buffet line. The seafood was ok, but you should also include sushi. I thought you would get a complimentary glass of bubbles when you sat down. I don’t mind paying for the bubbles, but it took forever to get service-and we were the first seating at 11:00. This place can do much better, because it has done much better.

   The hostess Josie was nasty. We got there a bit early so I just went up to check in and she started yelling at me after she cut me off and interrupted me. It was really rude. She was certainly not welcoming at all. And she did it in front of other people. It was embarrassing and humiliating. I have started from nothing 3 businesses which I have owned and operated and 2 of those are multi million dollar businesses. So I know a thing or two about operating a business. If she had done that to a client or customer of mine I would have fired her on the spot. We usually come here every year for Christmas but next year we’ll look for someplace else.

   Our server Jon Paul, was VERY POOR! Three (3) times we had to ask other servers (also the host) to contact him. VERY surprised of the poor level of service.

   We experienced some serious Christmas magic at Casa Don Alfonso St. Louis at the The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis! The food was incredible, the drinks were fabulous, and the highlight? A cocktail Christmas tree adorned with four unique cocktails—absolute perfection! While all of those things were amazing, the service wasn’t up to par. Our plates weren’t being cleared, we didn’t have water, and we wanted to order drinks other drinks but never could because our server was never around. This is the second time I’ve had a poor service experience here. We did appreciate that the manager offered us a round of drinks for apologize but that didn’t really make up for basically being ignored for almost three hours (we were partly there that long because we couldn’t get the check).

   Not sure how this restaurant got above 4.0 average rating on Opentable site. For such a high priced restaurant the food was quite sub standard. Only things we liked at the place was wine and Burrata, my wife ordered Ziti with lobster and I ordered their signature pasta, both the dishes were just floating in too much tomato sauce and quite salty too. On the surface, everything looks good interms of preparation, all the pasta is made fresh but feels like they don’t know how to treat the ingredients after that. Imagine spending close to 200 $ ( no Dessert) and leaving with a salty mouth. We did not even want to try Desserts .. already raked up close to 200$ i( without tip) for 3 glasses of avg priced wine, a burrata salad and 2 pasta dishes ( remember one of them is vegetarian) .. feels like a rip off place. They need to do 2 things urgently, #1 slash the prices by more than 1/2 if they continue to serve the same level of food, #2 train their staff with better ingredient usage and Sauce control
