   Finding the appropriate accolades for our experience at Candela Cucina is challenging. To begin, we entered the restaurant with open minds and a blank slate; and that slate was superb from the structure with its immense hand hewn beams and stone walls to the sublime decor especially the artwork of Meg Roberts that included a lifesize painting of a young Sophia Loren bordering the kitchen doorway and Italian noblemen on other walls. The choice of colors and even the wallpaper in the restrooms were simply perfect. Next comes the service provided by Amanda and others that was seamless and accommodating in every way. They performed as a well rehearsed group of Chamber music musicians and never missed a note. The food, from the delicious focaccia to the crisp and lightly dressed Caesars and onto the tender and exquisite Calamari was more than satisfying. The ample entrees including a special Lasagna, Chicken and Kale Ravioli in Marsala sauce and the Cacio e Pepe were delightful and filling. Beyond all of that high praise, there were detailed touches such as a birthday card for my wife that accompanied a creamy Tiramisu that was topped with a chocolate medallion with Happy Birthday on its face. We discussed the Meg Roberts paintings with the manager, Peter, who was affable and welcoming in every sense of the word. We are smitten with Candela Cucina--and with good reason.

   Just come to this gem of an Italian restaurant. Everything about it, visually, is elegant. The drinks are excellent. The food, spectacular. The bruschetta was heavenly, we’ve never had better. The duck was tender and delicious, as well as the veal. We indulged in the bread pudding and it was well worth it. This was our fourth time at Candela . We’ve not been disappointed yet.

   Delicious Veal Parmesan! Tender veal with a crust full of flavor & wonderful tomatoes over pasta. A generous portion too. Excellent, friendly service, cool lighting in a historic space with comfortable seating. Go! You’ll love it!

   My second time at Candela Cucina and it was wonderful. The service was impeccable and the food delicious. The whipped ricotta and the cacio e pepe - YUMMMM! The wine list is also fantastic. Will definitely be back... and soon.

    Overall, Candela Cucina exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine Italian dining experience! I will definitely be returning soon!
