    Terrible !!! Screaming guitar music and freeze you out a/c on a cold winter day. Appears management is more concerned about pleasing the kitchen staff than the paying customers. Wait staff & food was great, but negated by the above.

    Although I was hoping for brunch, and Cafe Modern only serves brunch on Sundays, I found the omelette with arugula salad to be a fine brunch item. The omelette was delicious and the dressing on the salad very good. They served a basket of focaccia bread which was exceptional! I also really like the mimosa drinks menu. I especially like the French Mimosa and find it affordable at $12. This trip to the Modern was to celebrate a friend's birthday, and she really enjoyed it. It felt special, she said. Another thing I like about Cafe Modern is the staff. I've been going to this cafe since it opened and the staff have been unfailingly pleasant and efficient. If you want to go somewhere without music playing in the background and no TVs, this is a good place.

    We enjoyed the chicken pot pie and the multi cheese and bacon grilled sandwich, plus cocktails to start. Very nice atmosphere overlooking the disappearing pool.

    Too loud. Table for six and we could not hear each other or have polite conversation. Go only with someone you don’t want to talk to or go alone.

    Gorgeous setting, with Christmas lights twinkling from the trees and reflecting on the water. That's the good news. The acoustics are truly deafening, even though the restaurant was not full. We ordered three entrees. The scallops were $57 for three smallish medium scallops served with a wisp of lettuce.. The pot pie's puff pastry crust was spectacular, but the dish itself was bland. Our friend ordered Italian, and commented that the side of pasta could have come out of a Chef Boyardee can. The "apple Jack Pie a la Mode was actually a baked apple--no pie in sight. $147 before tip--not worth it!

    Great evening! We caught a movie at the Magnolua first and then enjoyed an early dinner. Heidi was a terrific server!
