   Pleasantly surprised at how good the food was…reviews were right! Staff was very friendly and apologized service was a bit slow due to a convention crowd.

   Had the cheese and meat board appetizer and steak main course. Shared between two people. It was perfect before the show.

   I have to express my sincere gratitude to Jessica, Juan, and Otto, the service staff we had the pleasure of being tend by. I made our reservations 5wks in advance. I left 90min from our reservation time to the time to check in for our 19:30 show time at the Balboa Theater. It was as expected... Juan greeted us warmly upon approaching the hosts podium. His polite conversation made my wife and I very relaxed. Our window side table was neatly prepared and ready for us. Juan took our drink order and relayed it to Jessica, our primary server for the evening. Jessica came by within a few minutes to inform us of the availability of my wife's favorite Moscato and of the Gin for my drink. Instead of leaving us puzzled for an alternative, Jessica was prepared with several great suggestions. We were very pleased with the suggestions Jessica made. Our appetizer arrived a few minutes after our drinks. This gave us sufficient time to waffle on our entree choices. Once again, we felt relaxed. The leisurely pace was exactly what we wanted. This allowed us to enjoy the pleasant ambience, the wonderful decor all around us, and ultimately, our meals. The menu selections were pleasing to our tastes. We decided on the Alaskan cod and vegetables; a very generous portion that we decided to split and avoid any to-go portions. The check came abd I was very pleased with the value of our drinks, appetizer, and meal. I left a note on the merchant copy of the receipt and a generous, well-deserved, gratuity. We highly enjoyed our dining experience with the Bronze Bird. I highly recommend this venue for your next dining experience in downtown SD.

    Ohh my...Got asked 3 times for our reservation name. I'm told the lobster roll was good. I got my vodka rocks with a "heavy pour" because they were so slow to get us going ....and then got charged twice for 1 drink.I didn't order a double, nor did it taste like one. I know my Grey Goose. Ribeye isn't my fav , I wasn't disappointed... they still suck. There is nothing like advertising for theatre business and not being ready. What a joke. Advertising must work , they were slammed. . . But I won't be back here. Westgate, Dobson, Grant, even upstairs at the Civic Theatre ! RIP, Downtown Johnny Browns. Oh, never been to this Westin... must be the ugliest one in America. The lobby is basically nothing. Note, there were some staff who were trying, but the Food & Beverage Director should be embarrassed.
