   Brio used to be in our regular rotation but it had been declining in the last couple of seasons. We thought we would give it a shot because we could get a reservation in only 5 days for a Friday night before a nearby concert. Ominous beginning: hostess seemed put out that we arrived on time for our reservation, my table service was wrapped in a brown-stained white napkin (yuk). Service was so uneven: after an unusually long wait our drink order was taken, water arrived immediately, another person tried to give us water & was surprised we had it, another wait & one basket of 3 small bread pieces delivered for 4 people but a passing server heard my comment & pleasantly gave us another along with large slabs of butter but no oil. Still no drinks, found the server who went into a LONG explanation/rant about bar service & why we had no drinks. Cocktail eventually appeared with salad (another yuk). Table totally full of baskets, plates, etc by now. They tried to serve our entrees when I had eaten one bite of salad. Rejected this. Ordered glass of wine. After salads finished, entrees that had been kept nicely warm reappeared & table cleared of some clutter. Entrees were OK but not memorable. Wine came with check. Brio permanently deleted from our list in Naples.

   Our family was looking forward to a fun night at Brio. The reservation for the 8 of us was for 6pm to accommodate three children 11, 9 and 4, who enjoy an early dinner (and who get really cranky if they go much later than that). We arrived on time, but had a 40 minute wait for our table! The restaurant was low on staff, we were told....really? Thursday night during season in Naples???? We were finally seated, but it was another 20 minutes before we were offered water and menus. We ordered as quickly as possible, and rightly anticipated that we would not be offered more water or have the opportunity for more than one drink order. Our 11 year old was so disappointed in his pizza that his mom took him to get a hamburger on the way home. While our server was very kind, he couldn't make up for the disappointing wait for seating, ordering and serving. It will be a while before we go back.

   Very crowded with slow service and poor managerial oversight. We needed to get to an event, advised the server in advance, but had less than 10 minutes to eat after waiting over an hour. We then had to ask for our checks, which needed to be corrected twice. This was not an isolated event. The manager offered no compensation for multiple issues. This restaurant has generally good food but is not staffed for larger crowds. This was a very stressful dinner and we are unlikely to return.

   Always enjoy lunch with friends at Brio! Food is great and love sitting outside around bar area sipping a nice glass of wine with great conversation.

   Normally you can count on brio. Last night was a disaster. Something was terribly off with the waitress. ( maybe she needed to take the day off?). Just one example;(as I’d rather not relive this) I ordered a chicken Caesar salad for an entree ( the dinner size portion) what she served was a side salad. When I asked her about my order she insisted it was the dinner size salad. I pointed to my neighbors with the same items which were 2x the size. She said it was another dish. She asked them what they had in front of them & they said the dinner size chicken Caesar salad. So she didn’t know what my order even looked like!! I asked her to take mine back n get me what they had. I think the manager ( a man) returned with my size salad portion thrown in a bowl . I told him this was no larger than what was on the plate. He sad he added more lettuce. At that point another table next to me said this just happened to 3 of them. The manager assured me that the plate side salad was the dinner order portion. When the bill came??? It listed a side salad with chicken as an extra !! Which was actually more money and less food!! The waitress(& manager)ordered my meal all wrong & then lied about it. No one bothered to look at what the waitress wrote down on her order. I’m DONE with waterside shops Brio!!
