Service was bizarre. The staff would be overly attentive and then forget about our table for 20 minutes, leaving us with dirty dishes on our table, empty water glasses and cocktails presumably sitting at the bar getting warm and being served well after our meal was served and half eaten.

The food and menu is very similar to the Ivy and quite average. Front desk staff seemed clueless - couldn’t find our booking and didn’t bother checking properly. The only saving grace was our server Daniel, who was exceptional.

Food, setting and ambience all fabulous as usual. Service was awful. Sat at table at 8.10pm, order taken at 8.20pm. Mains served at 8.40pm. Drinks turned up at 8.50pm. We had all finished our food before drinks arrived. Finished our bottle of water, waiter asked if we wanted another. We said yes, but it never arrived. I refused paying for drinks which they took off, but added £20.00 service which again I refused to pay. We had paid and left restaurant by 9.05pm.

Half roast chicken was very salty. Unfriendly woman at front desk but servers are lovely. Some items on the menu were unavailable which would’ve been more helpful to have been made aware of when receiving the menu/before ordering.

Took forever to get order taken, food relatively quick, no one bothered checking if food was ok, then took forever to get check and pay, literally a group of tables had to put coats on as if leaving to get attention. Now the food … Roasted Half Chicken - Truffled Mash Potato, Grated Black Truffle, Mushroom Sauce and Nasturtium What this really is two chicken escalopes , so salty that had to scrape the breadcrumbs off, the mushroom sauce was served cold - was expecting roasted half chicken !!! For starter had crab, I think all pre prepared so was very cold and mushed together so little texture, toast cold Been here loads of times before, never had such poor quality food and service

The venue and food are very good a beautiful restaurant however the staff were utterly appalling. We were greeted by a young girl that was so incredibly uninterested in us I thought I’d stumbled into a Burger King, I requested a drink at the bar before dinner and was told “no I’ll try and seat you there after dinner” at which point my partner intervened as she saw I was uncomfortable having a confrontation with a much younger woman than me. Reluctantly we were allowed an aperitif. After we ordered we received our main courses before our starters, this seemed to cause confusion to servers who retreated without apology. Starters arrived and were delicious as were the mains when they arrived. We asked for our bill and when it was checked it wasn’t our bill. The maitre de took it away without apology again and returned with the correct one, when I questioned why there was no apology for presenting the wrong bill he simply said it wasn’t his fault and he had nothing to apologise for. At this point it was escalated to the restaurant manager who I have to say did the correct thing and discounted our bill however without coming over personally. Finally I went to collect our coats to be met by the same sullen girl that welcomed us, after finishing her conversation with her colleague she merely put her hand out for the cloakroom tickets without a word. A real shame as it’s a great venue with great food but severely lacking in respect and manners for the patrons, a real disappointment for an Ivy establishment.

Service is so poor - I can’t believe a restaurant that’s at this level can’t serve drinks in less than 20 minutes to your table . The tables each side to us also waited well over 15 minutes and one had their champagne removed and the waiter couldn’t find it . We’ve eaten here many times beautiful decor but staff below average apart from the gentleman dressed in a very smart suit who must have been a manager . The people next to us got scallops and were cold sent them back and they charged them even though they refused a replacement scallops dish . Such a shame as we’ve had such good times here I doubt we’d go back . Alto 5th floor so much better .
