“Arguably the best oyster bar of any white tablecloth restaurant in New Orleans” per the Times-Picayune, Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House is all about local seafood. If it’s not in season, you won’t find it on the menu. Enjoy authentic New Orleans dishes and oysters on the half-shell in a lively atmosphere overlooking Bourbon Street.

Dickie Brennan and his culinary team have created an incredible menu of classic New Orleans dishes complemented by new favorites. Signature favorites include Gulf fish on the Halfshell and New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp.

Bourbon is a central focus at the bar with 200 bourbons on the list. Bourbon House is the perfect place for a specialty cocktail or a straight pour of that hard to find small-batch whiskey.

Food was decent for it value. The service was not decent tonight. Took 30 minutes to get 1 cocktail and a the soup. The food came after about 45 minutes of waiting and for the value of it was moderate. Salad dressing was bland and remainder of food once again remained average quality. Would not go back again

We ordered the Harvest salad and added grilled chicken for a light dinner with a glass of wine and house bread/butter. Perfect after several days of heavy eating. We capped it off with sharing a crème brûlée. Everything was delicious and our wait staff couldn’t have been nicer. Hope to visit again when we’re back in NOLA.

The oysters were cold, fresh and delicious. The service was very attentive to our need to catch a show on time & our table by the window was a great view for people watching!

Portions are smaller while the price is normal, compared to similar restaurants. Service is not up to what I would expect from a restaurant in that class. Food come out with almost 5 minutes difference between first and last plate on the table. Had to ask several times for water to be brought to table when they were prepared standing ready - had to get up and grab it myself. On another note, this restaurant and associated restaurant that belong to same group do not offer Military Discount! Red Fish Grill across gives 20% if you like to support military friendly businesses. Unfortunately they were not open when we had are luncheon.

I had the shrimp and grits. I loved the thick, creamy texture of the grits. The shrimp was good as well. I didn't like the barbcue sauce; it was too tangy. I also thought 5 shrimp was a little skimpy; most people give you at least 6 shrimp. My companion had some boudin balls and catfish and loved both dishes. I thought the waiter could have been more attentive, especially since there were very few customers in the establishment.

Everyone loved their dishes - the local fish, the alligator pasta (not too spicy) and shrimp and grits . Service was attentive and pleasant. The bread pudding was good (flavorful) but not what we are used to - it was a bit dense.
