Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu. In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery. Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter's menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

First-time visitors, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal on the patio at Best Quality Daughter. We shared the “smallish” plates: Smashed Cucumbers, the Impossible Potstickers, and the Creamy Coconut Tom Yum Noodles. By then, we were stuffed and must stop here again for more amazing dishes! We also brought home T-shirts for our own three “best quality daughters.” Thank you for a fabulous time!

The BEST Asian food I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious unique recipes. Charming house and decor and friendly service. Loved it and can’t wait to go back!

The concept feels unclear, and some flavors are too bold, creating a strong clash, such as the popcorn chicken with cilantro sauce. Additionally, the greeters were not very welcoming, which set a negative tone at the start. However, the server was outstanding and provided excellent service. Unfortunately, despite the great service, this is not a place we would choose to visit again.

The food and service were top notch! The cocktails were fantastic! Each time we go we try something new and it’s amazing. Today was no different, the green beans and pork fried rice were delicious!

Cute place, great staff and YUMMY food!! Not your run of the mill type of place. Menu had changed from the last time we were there but new great options. The Curry Beef, Fried Rice and Cashew Chicken were great.

We went for lunch and had a great experience! I appreciate the condensed menu with small plates and lunch meals. We had the cucumbers, garlicky noodles and salt & pepper shrimp and it was more than enough for two people. Our server Alison was very attentive also! And you can’t beat the decor and ambiance!
