What started out as a butcher shop concept, has evolved and changed over the years to become a full-service restaurant, which was solidified with the restaurant's move to a larger space in 2022. At Bavette, the consumer will enjoy complete transparency of its food moving from farm to plate. Although the butcher shop has been phased out, the restaurant still works with the same farms, and uses the same high quality meats on its menu, which consists of a daily changing menu consisting of salads, sandwiches, small plates, pates, cheese, and charcuterie boards. The restaurant truly is a farm-to-table restaurant, sourcing not only the meat but most of its produce from nearby farms. In addition to the highly seasonal menu, there is a small store featuring chef-curated retail items, such as Wisconsin cheeses, local charcuterie, artisanal jams, pickles, salts, vinegar, and oil. Going along with the thoughtful menu is a select and unique offering of craft beers, wines, and cocktails.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in MKE. The service is excellent, the food is unbelievably good with a menu that is diverse and exciting. I have nothing but great things to say and cannot wait to return!

It was my 40th birthday and it was the best birthday ever!! The waiter was the best! Food was the best! Can’t wait to go back!!! Best day ever!!!

Service & food was great! Sophia (our server)was amazing! We had time constraints & she was on top of it! Portions are small & it’s quite expensive. Especially the starters were small portions. We were very satisfied for the most part. We had 2 different sizes for the same drinks & were charged the same, that was a little strange. Overall, wonderful experience. Love the ambiance, very lively!

As usual, the food was exceptional! The menu is always creative and unique! The server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Atmosphere lively! I have been enjoying Bavette’s for years and really love the new location! Can’t wait to visit again!

Excellent lunch!! Soup was delicious, cubano sandwich was outstanding, salad and deviled eggs were tasty and well prepared. And don't forget the fries.....amazing!!!!

I was seated immediately, and my server kept my coffee full. The steak tartare was beautifully plated; flavors were well-balanced. It was very, very fresh! I also had the pear, beet, and delicata squash salad. Good portion size, again with very, very fresh ingredients. The flavors worked perfectly with each other. I could not pass up espresso bread pudding for dessert. Excellent portion size, and again, beautifully plated. Good value for the price.
