Established in 2011, Barrio Queen combines authentic service with traditional Mexican flavors to create an immersive and satisfying dining experience. This spot was named one of the "Best New Restaurants in America" by Esquire and features a unique take on tacos, burritos, tortas and other regional favorites. Easy to find an outdoor table. Food is good with a bit loud music. Ambience is also ok. Service is fast.

The hostess was friendly & funny. Our waiter, Fred, was very nice and prompt. The waiter (I regret that I can’t remember his name) who took over for Fred was outstanding. My son was running very late to join us & the waiter was accommodating & went well out of his way to make sure my son’s food was warm upon his arrival, as we had ordered ahead for him. The crane asada burritos were good (we all ordered the same thing), but mine & my brother’s were both cold inside, which seemed odd as burritos, as we know them, are usually hot & a bit gooey. The staff made up for the temperature of the food.

We eat here whenever we come to Scottsdale. The food is always good-to-great, and we enjoy going here, and also like sitting outside on the patio when the weather permits. The tacos that 3 of us had were delicious, so no complaints there; however, the guacamole this time was average at best, not well seasoned and WAY too many pomegranate seeds! Except for the enchilada, my brother did not like his combination platter very much, saying that overall, the flavor was not very good! They were busy, and the service was a little slow, especially at first, but did improve as the crowd dwindled. This visit was a little "blip", but we still will be back in the future.

Very slow service and they were not very busy on 2/14. Waited about 30 minutes for our waiter to check in with us and take our drink order. Would take forever to come back and check in with us. Would have ordered more drinks but they were taking too long to come and check in with us so we just got our check after our food came.
