Bare Witness is in a beautiful location on the Parramatta River but my dining companions and I left very disappointed with the food offerings.
Firstly, there were no gluten free main meals on offer so I ordered the kids chicken and salad plus a bowl of chips. What was served was sub standard - some old pieces of iceberg lettuce in a small bowl with a small piece of grilled chicken on top. I would not have served this to my family at home. The chips were burnt. The waitress was kind enough to take the chips back to the kitchen but they were returned - the chef says they are not burnt. The Maitre D was very helpful and I ended up being given prosciutto and melon from the starters menu for dinner (at no cost). It was ok but four pieces of prosciutto and some thinly sliced rockmelon isn't really a dinner.
My friends who ordered from the main menu were disappointed with the small serving sizes, the flavour and the cost. We were then charged for two bottles of wine when we only ordered one. I do not like complaining and being a 'karen' but we all walked away very disappointed

Had dinner here. Food is good but service was not pleasant. We were the first customer to arrive, there was only one or two other tables but it was hard to get any attention from waiters to get our orders or request.
Ambiance is good but we were expecting live music as it advertised “live music from 5pm on sundays” but no live music until we left at 6:30. Bad advertising that’s all.

Went there for a birthday and one person didnt get their meal until everyone else had finished so we just had to take it away. Initially we followed it up with a staff member who said it’s on its way. When it still didn’t come another staff member apologised and said she hadn’t written it down so obviously the initial person we asked was lying. The host was apologetic and comped some items which was appreciated.
Food wise it was ok. The papadelle ragu was nice enough. The lasagne came in a shape like a scroll which was a bit underwhelming and not worth it.
There were very limited health conscious main options.
Would only go back for breakfast.

We love this place. The fresh made pasta, live music on Sundays and the view is just amazing

Lovely mood and setting. Wish I'd picked outside however with the weather lately it felt risky. Sun set and water views still seen from every table inside. The food was delicious only disappointment was the ravioli which was sold out; I'll just have to go back to try it and eat earlier!

Overall pretty good. Definitely some nitpicking with the food that could be better but I'm still impressed with the spaghetti and pistachio dessert.

Everything was lovely as usual (we've been there quite often) just the aircon was a bit on the too-chilled side. Food came out quickly and was delicious as always. Love that all the cocktails can be mocktails too!

A lovely lunch on New Year Eve. A table outside overlooking the river (we were early enough that we'd finished by the time the sun came round and was shining on that side; it would have been uncomfortable then).
The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful, despite being very busy indeed.
We had the avo and the chilli hopper and both were excellent and very generous serves; the hopper might be a bit hot for those who don't like their chilli, but I loved it. A nice white wine with that and we were very happy indeed.
Great value too
