Managed under the guidance of Maitre d' and Partner Alessandro Pietropaolo, Bar Isabel's menu includes a diverse mix of pintxos, conservas, seafood and meat dishes. Diners rave about the grilled octopus, the bone marrow and the ceviche. For dessert, the Basque cake and sherry cream is a must-try. Bar Isabel is open 5-11pm Sunday through Friday, and 12-11pm Saturday.     I've always loved Bar Isabel (and have been dining there for years). The service and food is excellent but left a bit turned off after my recent dinner. We had a party of three and when the bill was handed to me there was an automatic 20% gratuity added (without the server even asking or bringing this to my attention). I then asked the server if the 20% tip was intentionally added and they nonchalantly confirmed - yes. I paid the bill (with 20% tip and left). I always tip well for good service (at least 20%) but I really felt like I was taken advantage of in this case.

    The food was outstanding! We really loved the croquettes, pork secreto and the foie gras sobrasada. The rest of the dishes were amazing as well, zero complaints. Service was impeccable. We left full and all in it was $150 for each couple, including food, drinks and tip. We were visiting from Edmonton and my partner picked Isabel for his birthday. It did not disappoint! Will definitely be back when we return to Toronto.

    Had an absolutely fabulous time! The service was top-notch, and the Basque Cake with Hot Sherry Cream was simply delightful. I can’t wait to come back with my Celiac friends to try the gluten-free version—what a treat!

    Fantastic dinner tonight. We did the tasting menu which was a selection of the menu and each morsel was incredible. Highlight was the Bone Marrow and the luge finish with a shot of sherry for my daughter’s boyfriend. Perfectly executed! The Foie Gras Pintxo was my favourite. Incredible service that matched the food.
