This was so good. I had a great spot at the counter. The chowder was excellent, the pat of butter made it perfect. The donairs were so well executed and actually great value. Nice little mustard pickle too. 15/10. My server was attentive he gave me space but was always aware of me. Just go to Bar Clams again and again.

Great dining experience staff was so friendly went on Monday which is happy hour so oysters were a steal at $2 a pop and they were amazing. Lus Basicly half prices drinks all night. Highly recommend, the food was very good not top tier but very good. And the mains are fairly priced but maybe a bit bigger portions for the price. But all in all it was great experience highly recommend.

4 of us, 2 couples, went to Bar Clams for dinner this past Saturday.  We knew it was going to be expensive, but we also heard the food was amazing so we were prepared. We were seated at the counter right by the door when it was -15° outside.   Personally felt those seats should have been for walk ins, not reservations, so not off to a great start.  The cocktail I ordered, for $17, was watered down with huge ice cubes in it.  The wine list was very expensive as well, bottles averaging around $90+.  We ordered a shrimp cocktail that had 4 large shrimps, so good for sharing, and the crab dip. The crab dip was good, not sure if it was $32 good, but still good.   We had heard that the fish and chips were amazing and that Bar Clams had perfected the recipe.   It was ‘ok’, and not worth the hype as the French fries were cardboardy and not crispy at all.  The 3 of us that ordered the F&C did not finish our plates of that, we were all disappointed.   My husband ordered the grilled cheese with a side of peas.  We initially laughed at that, but turned out the peas were the highlight of our mains.   If the side of peas is better than the $35 fish and chips, something is wrong.   Finally for some positive, the service was great the desserts we ordered were delicious.  We had lemon meringue pie and the sundae.  Our bill was $600.   If we had been blown away by the food, we wouldn’t have cared about the cost.    But $600 is a lot of money to sit on a stool at a steal counter for mediocre food.  Might be back for the sundae, but doubt it.

This is a super vibey special room with fantastic service, knowledgeable about wine and friendly. We just found the food to be very very greasy. The raw bar, of course, might’ve helped cut the grease, but even the iceberg salad, which we ordered to try and balance out the mackerel BLT and fish and chips was covered in creamy dressing. A heavy meal, for those with strong constitutions.

Bar Clams, is great for a quick bite and drink. It is too loud which means you can barely hear anything from the people you are with or the server. The stools they have you sit on are so uncomfortable that my back was extremely sore afterwards. And I had the hot turkey sandwich and it was awful, the turkey was dry and the bread it came with too thick and it was just inedible. The rest of my party’s food was good but not amazing. Also the restaurant is called bar clams and I was excited to have clams but unfortunately they ran out at 7:00pm what restaurant that are known for there clams runs out at such a early time during a busy dinner service. I would not recommend it to anyone else.

Was a great experience! Limited menu, so the expectation was high. We tried the oysters, fried belly clams, mussels, molasses bread, crab dip and scallops with bacon. Everything was super tasty, refined, yet uncomplicated. We also had a couple cocktails, the old fashioned was perfectly crafted as was the whiskey sweet tea. The service was very attentive, and the decor was upscale diner and warming. Looking forward to going back in the near future!

The service and staff were lovely at this restaurant. The prices are high and they have some work to do in terms of presentation. The oysters could have some horseradish and variation of sauces. If I’m going to an east coast style oyster restaurant I would expect this. The menu is nice however expensive. It does empower you to think “I could make this $25 sandwich at home”. In terms of design - lots of hard surfaces at this restaurant so the way noise travels is very uncomfortable. It’s hard to hear the person sitting next to you. Maybe it will take some time to settle and they will improve over time however how things are right now it seems the opening was rushed. I would much rather visit Pearl Diver for a better experience.

Seats were so uncomfortable, it was pretty much a diner with prime seafood palace prices, wouldn’t go back!
