   Firstly the food and drinks are amazing. However we went to brunch at 1:15. Brunch is served until 2. They were out of several menu items. We felt rushed to order and it seemed more frantic than relaxing. Our waiter, although nice, seemed very stressed. The takeaway is go early for brunch. We’ve had dinner there and brunch there at an earlier time and it was great.

   Awesome relatively new place in Kailua that is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I had the Hot Honey Chicken and Malasadas and Smoked Gouda Shrimp and Grits (Reminded me of my time in North Carolina). Both made to perfection. I will be back.

   We have been wanting to try this new restaurant and we’re not disappointed. From the serene atmosphere to the exquisite food. Our experience was fantastic. We ordered the ceviche & the hummus w/ veggies to start. They were out of hummus & asked if we wanted to substitute with a Mac nut creamy cheese spread.the cheese spread was amazing ‘ better than any hummus I’ve ever had. The ceviche was perfection,with the right mix of seasoning & lime juice. We also ordered the lobster corn dogs, which I highly recommend sweet lobster combined with a cheddar cheese cornbread mix & fried perfectly - not greasy. We also ordered the signature tako tacos. Easy to taste why these won the chef “CHOPPED”. Wonderful mix of flavors with tako ( octopus) & chorizo. The service here is impeccable! Can’t wait to return.

   I’m not quite sure how to rate this restaurant. The food was solid, but just lacking any wow. We had the lobster corn dogs (which the server highly recommended) and they were good. But not quite spectacular. The ceviche was ok and the dips were all good. Just nothing out of the ordinary. The prices are that of an elegant restaurant but this is a very very loud, casual restaurant with a high price tag. So i’ll give them a solid 4. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again, but it was nice to have another option in Kailua

    My husband and I were greeted warmly when we arrived slightly ahead of our scheduled reservation. We enjoyed a drink at our table before our two friends joined us. The service by Lily (and other staff) were on point. We all had a nice time catching up over a delicious dinner. Thank you to the staff at Banyan’s!
