Welcome to BEHIND. We are an intimate 1 Michelin star fish-focused tasting menu restaurant run by chef Andy Beynon. Situated on the edge of London Fields, Hackney, BEHIND has 18 kitchen-table seats for lunch and dinner sittings, as well as a relaxed wine bar.

BEHIND is Andy Beynon’s first restaurant, opened in October 2020. After just 20 days’ trading it was awarded its first Michelin Star. Andy spent 15 years working in some of the best Michelin star restaurants in the country, including with chefs Claude Bosi, Phil Howard and Michael Wignall.

    An incredibly enjoyable and memorable experience. Very interesting dishes and the wine pairing were unique and impressive (the magica in particular stood out). Service was friendly and highly attentive. Overall a fantastic experience.

    Simply outstanding! Wonderfully elegant cooking where flavors are allowed to shine and the fish cooking absolutely on point. Add a relaxed and engaging experience with the chefs serving you and explaining the dishes and it’s a dining experience I can heartily recommend.

    We had the most incredible experience at BEHIND. Great concept and ethos, and the food and service were excellent. We loved seeing the chefs at work and being able to interact with them as they served and explained the dishes. The intimate size of the restaurant also added a personal touch. Highly recommend!

    Amazing personalised service. Loved the wine manager and her recommendations. Lovely and unexpected tastes with elements of surprise. Also liked the chance to interact with the head chef

    Excellent dining experience. Thoughtful use of fruit & veg in a fish focused menu that ticked all the boxes for us. Service was great and we loved speaking with the chefs. They were more than happy to make adjustments to the menu based on our dietary requirements. Unbelievable value for a 6 course lunch tasting menu.
