   Ave tried really hard to make it a memorable evening. There were hits and misses. On the hits side, the bread, olive oil and wine were delicious. The (overly) large portion of mussels were outstanding, along with grilled sourdough bread. The green salad was uninspiring. The Ahi tuna was just ok, but not special. What missed the mark was the lobster risotto. Sadly, the lobster was overcooked and chewy, and I ended up sending it back. We also made the poor choice of sitting outside. In order to keep the temperature comfortable, and the mosquitoes at bay, large, noisy fans were blowing through the whole meal, which really began to wear on us. Our server, May, tried her best, but at the end of the day, if the kitchen doesn’t prepare it well, no amount of cheerful service can fix it. I’m sure there are many delicious things on the menu, but we didn’t make good choices.

   An absolutely wonderful dining experience. Certainly not inexpensive but definitely worth it. Like everything at the Kimpton the service is spectacular

   Loved this restaurant! Service was wonderful! Food and ambiance was truly above expectations!! Octopus was prepared perfectly! Grouper yummy!

   We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at Ave - the very best part was the impeccable service. This is clearly the culture at Kimpton and Ave was no exception. A delight!
