   The restaurant is beautiful with beautiful decor and ambiance. Good selection of music as well. When I first arrived it took about 5 minutes for someone to come to the check in desk. They checked me in for a 6pm reservation and I went to wait in the lounge area. While waiting I went to use the restroom. The first restroom didn't have a door hook to hand my purse or coat so I went into the next stall. The next stall had a coat hook but the stall was dirty and the hook could only fit one of my purse straps so I was highly annoyed with that bc half of my purse was hanging off the door. Moving on me and my friend were finally seated at 630pm with a 6pm reservation that we were on time for. In between the time of waiting to be seated we ordered drinks from the bar that never came before we were seated. Once we were seated the drinks came like 10/15minutes later. So probably 30 minutes from ordering time with 3 bartenders. Our waitresses came over who was very friendly and took our order. The menus,table settings and decor again beautiful. So we ordered the Catfish deviled eggs and Jerk Chicken Skewers. Beautiful presentation with all of the food and dessert however how previous reviews stated the catfish devil eggs had a sweet flavor too them. I didn't taste any seasoning on the piece of catfish so it seemed like I was eating a sweet crunch egg. The Jerk chicken skewer was not spicy to me at all and I didn't even finish it. Next for my mai. Course I ordered the Oxtail with mash potatoes. Now I am well versed in Oxtails and wat them many a places. So the presentation again beautiful however the meat was not tender. It lacked flavor n the mash potatoes that it rested on was very sweet. Now onto the peach cobbler cheesecake. It had not taste and I didn't even finish it. My friend had the red velvet pudding cake and didn't like it so I tried a bite and again no flavor. The drinks however were good! So I would come back for drinks only.

   I went to Avana during resturant week. I will never go back there again. The food lacked favor, we were over charged for switching alcohol with no explanation, we were told to get up from our table before finishing our desserts and just overall a horrible experience. I'm one to support black owned businesses but we have to do better. There is too much competition on the parkway.

   Didn’t like it for restaurant week. Felt rushed. Was good other than that. Would definitely go again but not for that promotion

   Over all everything was good the food, the vibe. But the parking 25 dollars no that’s would stop me from going back

    The entire experience from start r finish was amazing. The check-in person was very courteous and welcoming. The waitress was knowledgeable and professional about the menu. The environment was wonderful with great background music. The food was simply amazing and the wait wasn’t long at all. This was quite an enjoyable experience!
