We've eaten here a few times now, food is always good and the steaks are exceptional. Food service is slow though when the pub is busy. If you are on a lunch break it's not the place unless you have at least an hour. Very hot outside in the courtyards in summer, need shade sails.

The food was very delicious. Service was very friendly. Value was no different to other places we have been to in the Northern River. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Very hot in the inside dinning. That made it a not so pleasant experience. Need more staff at the bar as the one bar does it all food ordering, drinks and cocktail making (which takes time). Food was good. Excellent steak.

We booked a late lunch out on the back verandah with my two young granddaughters. However it was an extremely hot day and we felt too uncomfortable, luckily the restaurant was available as most diners had already finished. We were able to move there under the fan and enjoy our delicious late lunch in the cool, with wonderful service 😀

The service was first class, clearly the staff have been well trained. Loved the ambience, but we were very close to a large table of ladies so there was quite a bit of noise. The tables are arranged in random number order...Odd. The Salt and Pepper Quid entree was perfect as was the Fish and Chips, though the chips we a bit over cooked. The rump steak was cooked to perfection. The only real criticism (apart from the chips) was the salad.... lettuce and rocket with 1/2 a cherry tomato does not a salad make, though the dressing was to die for. The wine selection is good, but quite over priced. Yes we will go back again. It's good to have a venue in Maclean with a touch of class.

Greeting & bar service from Cavelle & Kristy was friendly, efficient and personable. The eye fillet was perfectly prepared and generous - best steak around! The yamba prawns were succulent and fresh with a slight kick - loved them. The Argyle is a welcomed addition to the Clarence Valley hospitality scene and we will return. Lots of outdoor seating too along with a beer garden for cooler days. Renovations are sympathetic, classy and stylish while remaining authentic. Thanks too for the great service in the dining room - all of our requests were graciously met! Thank you again.

The four of us enjoyed a wonderful two course dinner. Was a lovely experience to visit the newly renovated hotel in Maclean. Was worth the 20 minute drive from Angourie. Staff, ambience and food was excellent!

We have had 3 meals at The Argyle since it was revitalized. 2 dinners and a lunch. They were all fantastic. It’s great to see so many locals and the owners have done a wonderful job in the menu, the set up and providing a convivial atmosphere. It’s a great place and I’m sure we will return again and again .
