Executive chef: Ralph Pausina

From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

We visited from Florida for a second time to celebrate a milestone birthday 8 years to the day on the 20th of January. We were greeted with excitement and smiles from the wonderful staff. The dining room was warm and cozy given New Orleans was expecting unprecedented temperatures and snow! The staff were professional and friendly even though the Parrish was preparing for their family’s safety and own well being with upcoming major road closings they truly went out of their way to celebrate with me and my husband! We were given complimentary champagne. My last experience, I ordered Cherries Jubilee and was given a table side show beyond my expectations. This time I gleefully inquired about it again as it was not on the menu. The Maitre’D assured me he would do whatever he could to make my day special and he did not disappoint! He put a show and even poured the fire on the tablecloth in front of me! The dessert was amazing and will bring me back! The food, ambiance and overall service was outstanding and I will certainly return in another 8 years to this wonderful establishment! Hopefully it will not be in the middle of a snowstorm again!

Food was great. Service was inconsistent. Has two servers attending to us at different times. Wrong oysters were served. Server Unable to open the bottle of Caymus we ordered. Cork broke in bottle. Exported much better service at these prices.

Antoine’s advertises their dress code - “The restaurant suggests that men wear jackets and collared shirts, and asks that guests avoid athletic wear.” They also state that whether or not the dress is acceptable is up to the manager. The night we were there T Shirt, tennis shoes, sweat pants were all scattered throughout the restaurant. If you are going to promote a dress code enforce it or change what the dress code is as stated. Food was good, drinks nice and the staff friendly. Baked Alaska was served using kitchen line spoons. I would have thought silver/plated service spoons would be more appropriate. The line spoons splattered melted ice cream all over the place. Candidly they seemed a bit understaffed with the back waiter acting as busser and resetting tables. In spite of all these distractions it was a plesant evening.

Hi Crawford, our website states our dress code as "Business Casual: Jackets and collared shirts are strongly suggested for gentlemen. We kindly ask all guests not to wear athletic or beach clothing, baseball caps, or flip-flops. Antoine’s dress code will be enforced at the discretion of the manager." We apologize if this caused you any distress as that was not our goal. And we're sorry to hear about your experience with the serving spoons. Your feedback on what type of serving utensils has been noted and will be passed on to management. Regardless, we're happy to hear you had a pleasant evening. Thank you again for your patronage, your feedback and rating. Have a lovely day.
