   We have dinner frequently at the Anthony's in Gig Harbor, Boathouse 19 (which is an Anthony's in University Place), and Harbor Lights (which is an Anthony's in Tacoma). We are very familiar with the menu, and are usually very pleased with our meal. Unfortunately, the meal this evening was not up to Anthony's quality. I had the Scampi, and they had been overcooked, which made them quite chewy and dry, the rice pilaf was very good, but the brussel sprouts were actually cool. Wasn't sure how the prawns could be overcooked, the rice perfect, and the brussel sprouts cool....all on one plate. The bread was delicious, and we love the salted butter. The shrimp dinner salad was slightly overdressed with blue cheese crumbles. The service was outstanding.

   It's very loud in the bar with the staff banging the plates/dishes and throwing bottles in the trash. I was put off when they asked if I wanted to sub the tiny shrimp in my salad with big ones. I said yes and agreed to add 3 shrimp. They charged $4 per shrimp without telling me about the additional charge for substitution. I had 1.5 glasses of wine and a salad and it came to $45! Excessive.

   Beautiful restaurant and good service. Unfortunately the food was mediocre, especially the entrees. We all ordered from the Sunset menu. The clam chowder was good with lots of clams. The Caesar salad was a typical Caesar salad. The shrimp cocktail made with petite shrimp and virtually no sauce was disappointing. The salmon duet with shrimp was also disappointing. Both proteins were overcooked. The accompanying rice was nothing special and the Brussels sprouts were tasteless. The roasted garlic prawn entree was actually small shrimp and difficult to eat as the shrimp were in the shell. It also came with the same rice and Brussels. Both desserts options were very good.

   Food was good but some things were a little salty for my taste, server was polite but not very attentive, but I’m sure it was because it was Sunday evening and after a long thanksgiving weekend? Over all would come back when I come back to the area.
