   Great dinner - and surprised at how crowded the restaurant was for such an early sitting. Service was excellent, the food just delicious. The menu was a tad limited and the dessert menu was out of both crème brûlée and the panacotta. Delicious cocktails too!!

   We first went to this restaurant in 2006 and went back many times until we moved out of the area in 2016. We were so pleased to see it was still open on our recent visit back in the city. The place still has the same cozy charm it always had, the staff is super friendly and attentive, and the food- wow! As good as I remember it to have been. The dipping sauce accompanying the bread basket is incredible. Unlike anything we’ve ever had. The spaghetti bolognese was deeply flavorful with perfectly al dente pasta. Hubby had chicken parm which he swooned over with each bite. This is not a fancy restaurant but charming, inviting, and the restrooms are very clean. The food is comforting and deeply satisfying and was a highlight of our trip. Good food is good food. Another memory made here.

   I chose the pre fixe menu since it not only had my appetizer and entree of choice, but also included dessert. The bruschetta was delicious and the perfect size for an appetizer. The entree was wild salmon on spinach with risotto bom boms in a lemon caper sauce. Another deliciously wonderful dish and perfect size. Since the gelato was 2 scoops, I chose strawberry and hazelnut. The strawberry had large pieces of strawberries , but the gelato didn't have a strong strawberry flavor (I ate that first). The hazelnut was fantastic !!! I will definitely come to Amorone again when the theatre I'll be attending is relatively near by.

   Amarone is evidently under new management. There service and quality are not the same. For years, we enjoyed authentic Italian quisine at reasonable prices. The menu has changed, not for the better. My partner had the Bronzino which was a paltry half filet with meager vegetables. They screwed up two of the four orders in our party and behaved unconcerned about the mistakes. Wine list has reduced, but the prices are much higher. Big disappointment. This is a trend with the local restaurants selling out to corporate greed in New York.

   From start to finish, the experience here was amazing. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back!

    The waiter totally screwed up. The dish we ordered was called "Seafood Risotto"which specifically said was Calamari, Clams, Shrimp and Lobster in White Wine. When we got the order there was no lobster and was substituted with pieces of salmon. When we asked the waiter where the lobster was he informed us after the order came out that the restaurant had no lobster instead of telling us before hand there was no lobster. The dish was $38 per plate and there was no attempt to comp the dish or substitute the order with something else. Never coming back to this place again.
