Amarena, named after the classic Italian cherry, looks to combine rustic charm with opulent luxury, invoking coastal trattorias and the verdant Italian summers as well as the opulent palaces overlooking the Amalfi.

The menu features Medina's twist on Roman fare, including Suppli — a Rome-based rice ball similar to Arancini, Vongole al Forno — baked clam with salsa verde, Soppressata Picante Pizza with peaches and Calabrian chili honey, Carbonara Antra with bucatini, duck guanciale, duck egg, and pecorino and Porchetta Agrodolce with tomato, olive, and teardrop pepper agrodolce and lettuce cups.

This is no better than Amarena. Food, beverage, and service are the best. Always a wonderful night when we are there from the moment you enter until you leave.

The food was incredible. Both my sister and i thought the pasta dishes we had were maybe the better ever had? Our server was above & beyond. Great ambiance, sweet decor. Just a really great experience.

Very charming little restaurant with warm and attentive service. Lots of interesting menu items, and the ones we had were delicious. Good selection of wines by the glass. The decor is lovely, but the AC was set too high in my opinion - it was a hot day outside, but I wished I had brought a sweater, and I was almost shivering by the end of dinner. I down-rated them one level for 'Ambiance' based on this. Prices were too high for me to give full marks for 'value', but not out of line with the neighborhood and level of quality.

The food was good but the portions are way too small. Waiter had a difficult time taking our drink order - took 3x to get to r order right. Tiramisu was very good.

This was our first experience at Amarena - the food was delicious and the service was good. Although, I have to mention that it was extremely difficult to hear our waiter, as the noise level was incredibly high in the upstairs dining room. It also made it very difficult to have a conversation at my own table, which impacted our overall dining experience. There were several larger parties upstairs which were causing most of the noise, perhaps they had been a bit over served. I’d suggest finding a way to damper the sound in the upstairs dining area with sound absorbing artwork or structures, or plan to seat smaller parties upstairs.
