   This was our first time to try this restaurant. The interior is beautiful and sitting in a booth gives some privacy. Peruvian food is new to us, but the waiter's recommendations were all delicious. The noise level ramped up as the evening progressed, but not enough to make conversation difficult. We'll be back again to try different dishes on the menu.

   Maya was such a wonderful, bilingual server! She made our visiting parents feel so welcome, which was the cherry on top of the delish sundae that is Altamirano, with its stunning decor, very special menu, and convenient location in our neighborhood (with ample, easy parking across the street). We are are already becoming regulars!

   Great new addition to the neighborhood! The food was amazing and flavorful. Drinks were also a highlight. Love the ambience as well!

   Pros: The food & ambiance here were fantastic! We loved every one of our dishes and apps. The design aesthetic is upscale and very inviting - they did a fantastic job designing the menu and the space. Cons: The mescalita cocktails tasted amazing but were served with a massive round ice cube that took up the entire glass, leaving maybe 3 sips before it was empty. $18 for 3 sips. Those types of ice cubes are meant for slow sipping alcohols like whiskey, not mescalitas. We asked for another complimentary serving of their tiny bowl of chips to eat our ceviche with, only to be told that would be $6 for more chips a tiny bowl of chips (that really should have been served with their ceviches). While $6 is not much - it’s more the principle. It’s an upscale restaurant trying to nickel and dime in weird places. Our server also was not pleasant and took any questions / food allergy requests with a look of disdain “sure - we can do that.” Perhaps she was not having the best day but it was clear she was not happy or just has a bad attitude. So these guys nailed the food but there’s some basic things here that could be better, for the price they are commanding.

   The ambience of the restaurant was great, we chose to sit in the courtyard which had cute lighting and a nice fire. Our food and drinks were amazing, they also had great presentation. Service was a little slow on a not busy night but were very friendly to compensate.

    This is our second time dining there, the first time everything was outstanding and delicious this time the food wasn’t as good or maybe as fresh, both the crab meat in the salad and the chicken in the entree had after taste and we couldn’t eat them
