   Had a reservation for New Year's Eve which had been booked in advance. Despite open seats in main restaurant, my wife and I were seated in a small/tight booth in the bar area. Ordered Chicken Parm (due to unexpected menu adjustments) which was beyond disappointing - two massive slabs of dry chicken which you might expect to see in an old New Jersey Diner. At least the server took the Chicken Parm off the bill since I only had a couple of bites. Not at all what we were expecting and wish we had booked something downtown.

   I prefer to dine at a booth in the bar at Alta Via Fox Chapel and because we were there for a late lunch/early dinner New Year's Eve, we were able to do that. The bar area is beautiful. Service is always superb and no exception during this visit. Our server was Morgan, I believe. The cocktails are delicious! The bread service is so yummy. The Little gem salad is large enough to split and exceptionally simple and tasty. My Chicken Orechiette was very good. I'm a big fan of the Big Burrito group, in particular both Alta Vias.

    We really enjoyed our cocktails before (Old Fashioned and Manhattan). Brussels sprouts were fantastic. We ordered 3 half portions of different pastas - Bucatini, Lumache, and Pappadelle - all were excellent. We ordered dessert, the chocolate torte, but after the order was put in, our server came back and said they were out of it. We did not order anything in its place. Very nice experience, this was our second time to this location and we will go again.
