We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings.

Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees.

If you’re looking for a fabulous dining experience, this cozy little diner on Spadina is a gem! It’s centrally located, making it a great spot to pop in for brunch. The food? Absolutely delicious! The service? Top-notch—friendly and attentive. That said, there are two small downsides: no cider on the menu (bummer for cider fans) and the music was cranked up way too loud, which made it hard to fully relax. Still, the food and vibe made it worth a visit—just bring some earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise!

Consistently over 85 Dbs throughout. Having to shout to the server and companion, at 5:30 pm lessened the otherwise terrific experience

Stopped in after the symphony and had a piece of the lemon meringue pie and a few drinks. Server was friendly and knowledgeable.

The food was delicious. Highly recommend the fried chicken; a generous portion, juicy, crispy and complimented by the zippy hot sauce on the side. The truffle burger was charred on the outside and med-rare on the inside; my husband said the charred outside taste was too strong and took away from the truffle taste. Enjoyed the sides we ordered; from the crispy butternut squash (slightly crispy on the outside, soft and melty on the inside), to the (salty) triple cooked fries. Our server was attentive and made some good suggestions. Overall, really enjoyed our dinner out.
