   We’re regulars at this point but each time we go we love it. Excellent afternoon tea, the pianist is fantastic and our view was amazing.

   I spent a lovely afternoon catching up with my school friends with afternoon tea at Powerscourt Hotel (after a lovely walk on the grounds). Eden our server was just lovely and so warm and couldn't do enough for us. The sandwiches and cakes were fab as always but the scones with the clotted cream, jam and lemon curd were outstanding as was the delicious sparkling tea! Such a lovely spot for a small cosy catch up... There is always such a lovely ambiance in the room and such fab views.

   Gorgeous afternoon tea over looking at a very grey and wet sugar loaf!! It was lovely regardless of the weather, staff really lovely and attentive. However, €7.10 for bottled still water for the table ha ha that speaks for itself. Would still recommend this afternoon tea!

   Our experience of the afternoon tea at the sugar loaf lounge powerscourt hotel was superb. We were greeted by a lovely, friendly member of staff called Emily who was so polite and welcoming to us and made our experience very enjoyable and pleasant from the moment we arrived. The food was also delicious and all the staff were friendly, happy and polite. Overall a lovely experience of delicious afternoon tea.

   Fabulous location and setting with great view from table. Table beautifully set. Lovely atmosphere with Carol singers. Beautiful decorations. I had gluten free option which was poor. The bread and the scones were very poor quality, tasted stale - which gluten free often does but it is very possible to prevent that with better quality and more thought. Could not eat the bread or the scones. The sandwich fillings were good however straight from fridge so not that tasty. The flapjack and the 2 choc desserts were good. The pavlova was rock hard - could not cut it with knife - only way was biting it. Not at all good. Some of the crockery was chipped and some of the staff uniforms were grubby. Not offered fresh cups when we changed type of tea. The staff were attentive and friendly but did not seem well trained. I would not usually leave a bad review as think it is unfair not to say it directly. When leaving I was asked if everything was okay. I mentioned the food and the response was I will tell the kitchen team - that’s it - no more of a response than that. Not at all a 5 star experience although the hotel itself - the physical product is very much 5 star.

I have shared your feedback with our culinary team regarding the gluten free offering. We use the highest quality bread for our sandwiches and only fresh food for our offering.    We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon tea at the Sugarloaf Lounge, the service was fabulous and the food was amazing! We had a beautiful table with a fabulous view and were so well looked after. We'll be coming here every for our Christmas Eve family afternoon tea every year from now on, and no doubt many times in between.

    I was really looking forward to going to afternoon tea at Christmas in Powerscourt and I’m sure when I looked at booking there was going to be a pianist playing - sadly none, elevator music playing in the background Tasteless sandwiches refrigerated- very nice scones , macaroons but the other items mediocre. Very nice teas/ staff extremely nice and attentive - won’t be booking again sadly!
