I was so disappointed by afternoon tea at the Fairmont. Once the renovation happened, I had not been there until today. Today’s experience was so much less than the previous experiences because of the ambience. In the past, afternoon tea was held inside the Georgian and this afternoon’s experience was held in the lobby!!! I’m sorry to say that having afternoon tea in the lobby area is so much less of an experience that I can’t even express the disappointment. The service was excellent, and the food seemed to have the quality that it did before, although to a lesser degree. All in all would I recommend afternoon tea at the Fairmont? If someone has never experienced afternoon tea but would like to see what it’s all about then I probably would recommend the Fairmont. Otherwise not so much.

We were seated in a room like a library and my daughter liked the almost private dining area. There was a music speaker on the wall right next to our table so it was a little loud. The service was good. The food was average. Scones were good, but they were kind of flat and tasted more like American-style scones than English teatime scones. Maybe this is as good as it gets for afternoon tea in the States, and I would go back if the price was more reasonable for the whole experience.

The Fairmont is an exquisite hotel that should be on everyone’s list to experience. While there treat yourself and your BFF with the Afternoon Tea. The choices of loose leaf tea are unique - I loved the “Champagne of Tea” ! The menu changes for Spring, Summer , Winter and Fall so I will definitely be back to see what’s new.

The experience was lovely, but so many of the samplings had quite unique flavors. My very traditional eater husband didn’t enjoy it as much as I did. Lobster salad is delicious when it’s very basic. They added something that tasted like grandmas couch. I still ate it. ;)

The food was off today compared to other visits. Especially the cucumber sandwich and egg salad. The cashew crème on the cucumber sandwich was not good. Please bring back the classic cream cheese. It’s a classic for a reason. Also, the egg salad was difficult to eat.

Outstanding. Staff were so very friendly, accommodating and kind. Our server put us right at ease and even brought out a complimentary little birthday treat for our mom. We had high tea and it was very tasty. We had the Darjeeling, Orange Pekoe and Lychee black teas and the Lychee was our favorite! Not overly floral, just enough Lychee flavor :-) And such a beautiful hotel with an awesome ambiance

Lovely space. Nice servers. This was our first tea and it took about 40 minutes before the food came out. Not sure if that’s normal, but it felt long to us.

High tea at the Fairmont was awesome — the food was delicious and they were able to accommodate dietary needs and allergies. Our waiter Dave was so kind and helpful, we felt super welcome and would definitely come again!
