Our newest restaurant, Afghania is the sister restaurant to Bistro Aracosia in the Palisades neighborhood of DC, Aracosia in McLean Va and Afghan Bistro in Springfield VA. Afghania accommodates any diet and is proud of taking cooking back to its origins.

Welcome to Afghania, where the Steppe of Central Asia meets the Hindu Kush and Suleiman Mountain Range, bordering South Asia. Come and enjoy the warm hospitality, exquisite flavors, and the mystery of the Afghan frontier that so many have been intrigued by.
At Afghania you will enjoy some classical dishes of the warriors from the frontier. Smoked meats, vegetables full of flavor, exotic spices, exquisite flavors and aromas and unmatched hospitality are promised at Afghania.

The holiday menu was a feast, it was an amazing showcase of so many items at a very good price. The staff was very attentive and provided many special moments and details.

We went there for the Valentine’s day. Ordered a la carte rather than the price fixe menu. The dumpling sampler was excellent. So was the lamb dish. The vegetarian dish was ok. The service was good. But the place is small and very cramped.

The food is always delicious at Afghania! We love the bread and accompanying sauces, the dumplings, and main courses, too.

This place is simply the best restaurant I have been to in my life, period. Our party ordered the mixed grill, chicken shinwari karahi, and lamb shank which were all a 10/10. The meat was grilled to perfection and all the sauces and seasoning layered on top were just bursting with flavors. Not to mention the service was incredible. The owner stopped by multiple times to check on us and’s help grab a few things for our table despite having a broken hand! Also they ordered us a complementary appetizer on the house since it was our first time here. Great spot and great food.
