Acova is writing the next chapter of one of Denver’s great neighborhoods. An iconic locale in a historic district, Acova builds on the rich story of “The Northside” (now known as LoHi) by breathing new life into an address with soul. Even its name pays homage to its South Broadway sibling restaurant The Hornet, while tipping a cap to its storied Italian predecessor Patsy’s. The place you bring friends and family from out of town to show them what Denver’s all about. The place you go for that after work cocktail, or your go to date spot, whether it’s your first or 50th date. The place you get the group together on a Saturday night, and where you recover together on a Sunday morning. Acova is the next Highlands institution, bearing vintage flair and contemporary charm that threads the past into the future. Acova brings you back time and again because you are part of this story now, and Acova is part of yours.

Latin flare with nice atmosphere. Our server was really good let us know a large party arrived so kitchen would be slow but still got us out by time we asked for a show. Food is good, but also not ridiculously overpriced like many restaurants in town now. I’d go back!

I want to start by saying I love Acova, I'm gluten free and they have lots of delicious choices. I have friends in Denver and live in Arvada and it's equidistant between our houses. Tonight I met a friend for food and wine and was having a lovely time until our server came up to us and said if we wanted desert now was the time to order because they had another reservation in 20 min. I asked him it they were throwing us out, and he said there was another reservation in 20 min. Clearly profitability is more important to them than our experience. What would have happened if we wanted to have a cup of coffee and talk some more? would they have thrown us out? Made a scene? I am so disappointed what was once a special place now feels uncomfortable and I don't know if i will go back.

Hello Patricia, Thank you for your kind words about our restaurant. It was absolutely not our intention to insult you, our server was enacting our 2-hour policy. That policy is stated in OpenTable and terms/policies must be acknowledged by our guests before the completion of booking. That policy is in place to protect all of our guests experiences. I'm guessing you skipped over it? Had you requested more time, one of the managers working last night would have addressed this with you, nobody would be thrown out, no drama. There was no intention of offending you. We welcome you back any time and are happy to accommodate any timing related requests with advanced notice to avoid what we feel is an undeserved review. Enjoy the holidays. John H - General Manager

My husband wanted to try this restaurant because it focused on gluten-free entrees and desserts. Overall the entrees were tasty. My husband had the GF fish and chips. Outside the breading for the fish was perfectly fried, but inside the breading was slightly doughy. This might be just the function of GF breading and nothing you can do about it. The coleslaw that accompanied his dish lacked any sort of seasoning or flavor. It tasted like cabbage mixed with mayonnaise. I enjoyed my Prime Rib French Dip. The perfect balance of cheese, meat, and poblano peppers. Delicious! The fries were perfectly thin and crisp. The service was beyond excellent. The biggest disappointment was the desert. My husband had the fried apple donuts and I had the cheesecake. I don't know if it was an off day for the deserts or what, but both were less than satisfactory. The apple donuts were sliced apples that had been coated in a breading and fried. The apples were not cooked through and were still hard. The texture of the cheesecake was spot on, but the flavor was missing. It was tasteless.

Excellent in all regards. Appreciate that they allow reservations for brunch. Service and food were both excellent, and they had a lot of options that catered to my wife who is a celiac.

The ahi tostada and miso salad with seared ahi were so delicious! I wish the salad was slightly bigger, but it was a good portion that wasn’t absurdly large. The huckleberry lemonade was delicious as well. The spacing of the table in the circle corner booth was a bit awkward; my friend and I kept kicking each other. They also need to update their drink menu. Other than that it was a great experience.
