Recently modernised, Hamlet Restaurant compliments the building’s 18th century charm with a modern twist.

The food ranges from a variety of traditional English and European cuisine, with a Sunday carvery that is not to be missed! We operate a ‘help yourself’ buffet option at our cold selection table for breakfast along with our Full English Breakfast option.

Lunchtime dining offers a choice of two and three course menus available.

As for dinner, join us and treat yourself to a pro-active, friendly service for those leisurely after work wind downs, a quick bite to eat, or, a romantic date night – better yet, why not request a conservatory table upon making your reservation to watch the evening draw-in under the stars!

Our carvery selection changes throughout the season. You can always enjoy a minimum of 3 premium roast meats ( Gammon, Beef, and Turkey crown). All carvery is served with mouth-watering roast potatoes, fresh seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and a luxurious red wine gravy and save some space for our delicious array of sweet treats. There is also a vegetarian special of the day, varying from dish to dish each Sunday, so no one is left out of the fun! Food was dreadful. I had to ask for started bowls to be removed and get clean cutlery from next table. No ambience, music playing was depressing. All veg & yorkshires were frozen not home made. Looked and tasted vile. Vegan gravy not vegan choice of main ( no, I'm not vegetarian just something I noted). Didn't eat after emptying a 2 year out of date horseradish sauce over my meal. No order to the lay out of a Sunday roast. Paid for drinks and left.

Service was adequate, waitress did not know what the fish was with the fish and chips, and no offer to find out when asked! The curry was nice, but should have come with rice, poppadom and naan bread. The naans turned out to be tortilla wraps! Service was very slow, especially for drinks Restaurant area is tired and needs refreshing

they have a good menu but on Saturday night 1st June when we were staying at the hotel there was a problem. they only had chicken curry or pizza available this was at 7.30pm.egen we checked into the hotel about 6 45 we told them we had book a table in the restaurant. when we came down to eat they showed us to the restaurant. after about 15 minutes we hadnot see a waiter or anybody so asked at the bar. we looked at the menu at the bar and when we had chosen they then told us they only had chicken curry or pizza...

Have been here lots of times now nwaver been disappointed service mark and team look after us well food outstanding value brilliant where else would you get 3 course meal and drink for 10 99 booking easy plenty of parking will carry on comeing here thanks guys xx

Arrived for our carvery lunch and we’re greeted by smiling and attentive staff, free first drink was an unexpected bonus, food was a nice mix of well cocked offerings and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Looking forward to another booking sometime soon.

A pleasant Sunday lunch price very reasonable for a basic meal. Main course very nice lots of selection Yorkshire puddings a bit stodgy. Selection of sweets nice could of done with some cream as an alternative to custard. No sweet spoons had to use soup spoons. Overall good value.

A three course meal for £10….what more can you ask for…it makes Sunday lunch out affordable for everyone

Was our second visit , this time quality of food had dropped & there was no service at all , had to clear own plates. Just no staff seem to be in the dining area constantly, just one member of staff rushing through every now and then. wasn’t offered our free drink that came with the carvery deal. Even for the £10 three courses with what is actually on offer isn’t great value for money

My sister was staying with me over the weekend and we went to The Hamlet for Sunday Roast Carvery. Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and very reasonably priced. Would very much recommend it.
