Tasty, but expensive. Too noisy. Beautiful setting. Love the garden. Entry to garden should be included with meal.

KATIA made the service experience excellent. This restaurant seems to pay attention to the details. A short menu but excellence in every dish. We spent $131 for a lunch for 2. We both had fish - a sea bass special and the salmon. The sourcing was impeccable, the preparation commendable, and the price of these was very reasonable compared to other high restaurants in OC. There was a part of about 10+ mostly young girls and that made the ambiance very loud and obnoxious. I'm sure any other time we might have been happy with the noise level. We sat inside and started at opening 11am so half the tables were not yet filled. We had struggled to get reservations and failed several times when we wanted to go. Now that we foresee coming again, we're daunted by the reservations process - the system lists no openings while half the tables are empty - I know restaurants want to hold tables back for walking...the location in the Sherman Gardens means you might have a few last minute walking, but we like to plans ahead and to hold back ½ the tables for walking doesn't make sense. We have had a chef at home on and off, and we eat at some of the finest restaurants in OC, NY, and Napa and it appears that Chef Roy has the discipline and experience to consistently create excellence in the kitchen at par or above anything we have seen locally. We wanted to compare the Farm House at Roger's Gardens but I think 608 won almost right away. My only disappointment was the lack of an espresso machine...no Cappuccino to go with the desserts. We were offered coffee with cream but it's just not the same. A commercial JURA might cost $6,000..and do almost everything include decaf beans automatically. Seems like this would fit the venue well.

Lunch at Dahlia's is an extraordinary experience: a small but exceptional menu with enough variety for any taste, beautiful ambiance, exquisite presentation, and excellent service. It is one of the coastal culinary gems, surrounded by the beauty of Sherman Gardens.

What a perfect experience! Five of us came for a family bday. The grounds were lovely and the weather was perfect. The setting is top notch! The food was also amazing! Chef Jessica is soooo great. Her biscuits and quiche are better than any I’ve ever had! Seriously! We had the mushroom pasta which was delicious, harvest salad with grilled chicken (perfection!) and the salmon and soup. I had a local orange beer which was so refreshing and a few of us had their non alcoholic soda combinations, which were also unique and delicious. My husband was a little salty that it costs $5 per person just to get in, even though we also dropped $250 on a meal for 5 of us (not including dessert!). But, overall it was worth every penny and the quality of the food and the ambience were as good as it gets!
