   The place, fun hip slick cool and all that jazz. Food, most was good. I sprung for the rib eye. When asked for temp I said to the server "warm pink center" assuming he would tell me if that was med or med rare. I find it depends on the restaurant sometimes and this is the easiest way to describe what I am looking for. He looked at me like I was crazy. I said well what would that be here? He said "I don't know, do you want med or med rare? (But with an attitude) I should say here that we all had already commented that he had zero personality and had not cracked a smile in the 2 time he had spoken to us previous to taking dinner order. (we had done drinks and apps already) One of our out of town guests had actually said earlier (very sarcastically) "wow isn't he charming". I replied maybe he lost a loved one or something bad has happened to him today lets try to be understanding. (full disclosure, I own a very busy and successful restaurant myself on Siesta Key so I am pretty understanding). I have often thought of trying 1592 when I am downtown. It always seems busy. The sidewalk seating looked fun. I was not given an option on opentable for outside. Just bar or standard. I was hoping for outside but they had us inside. Would have been cool to have the option to ask when booking. Most of the disappointment was about the server just being all around blah, going through the motions, acting like we should be glad he was there, I even tried to kill him with kindness and gave him the thank you routine for everything I could but manged to get not one in return. Alas the steak arrived and for 50 something it was just not the nicest cut, very fatty (not marble which is why I like rib eye) it was fatty and under cooked, red rare and chewy. I sent it back for more of a medium cook. It was better when it came back. I ate it. Not a great value for the price overall. Everyone else's food and the cappuccino was great. End of day, we finally tried 1592... Meh..

   Love the menu! And the ambiance and service is delightful. The branzino was excellent! Each time we visit, we’re reminded that we should certainly come more often.

   Some dishes are better than others. Babaganush came prepared like a spread instead of a chunky tapas. Delicious zucchini fritters. Calamari was good but needed some sauce with it. Falafel needed more spice. Our waiter disappeared after our order came....had to track someone down to get a bill.

   Our experience was excellent! Server was fabulous and entire crew. Cocktails were terrific! We had show tickets and they got us served in and out so we could make our show. We will be back!!
