   We had a reservation and we arrived on time. The inside of the restaurant was not busy. We were seated for approximately 20 minutes with no service. No acknowledgment that we were at the table, no water, nothing. Several servers walked past our table and I attempted to make eye contact with them with no success. As we walked out, the hostess told us to “have a good evening” as she sat chatting with two of the servers behind the host stand. Very disappointing since we are locals and had been very curious about this restaurant.

   The food wasn’t bad, but the service was slow. It’s definitely a loud restaurant especially when live music is outside. With so many choices available in the area, I’m not sure we would go back.

   The music was too loud. I had out of town guests and I couldn’t hear each other speak because the music was so loud. We were sitting in the small room off the main room. Do you only play loud country music?

   Ordered a chicken sandwich with pimento cheese. There were two pieces of chicken but no cheese. Took home half and was given cheese and a discount on the sandwich. My husband ordered key lime pie and I thought it tasted like cheesecake. The fruit syrup on top took away from the dessert. The restaurant was very clean and newer with outdoor seating along with a TV. The waitress was overly attentive.

   1229 Shine always have the freshest oysters; we especially like the addition of "Victory Points" from Virginia to the choices. Happy hour, rocks!

    Love coming here! I go every time I visit Myrtle Beach. I have Celiac Disease and can eat here safely. They have a dedicated fryer for gluten free foods, so I can have fried grouper or even a fried chicken sandwich. Delicious and fresh food! Also enjoy going on weekends to hear the live music!
