Although we weren't seated right away the wait wasn't no more than 10 minutes as they were very busy with sold out reservations throughout the evening/night. While we waiting they came around with complimentary champagne for everyone, it was great. Food and menu were top tier and we enjoyed ourselves. I have known this restaurant for years since I was a child, so I have never been disappointed.More infoThe Mill on the RiverPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• South Windsor•4.8

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant! Is the only place that I go where I never put anything on the steak. No salt or pepper or anything. The way it is seasoned and the way it comes is perfect every time. I’ve been going to J. Gilbert for 25 years and it’s amazing that I’ve never had to send anything back to the kitchen. They are so careful in their preparation and so precise. Such high-quality food. It’s also the restaurant I go to for every one of my birthdays!More infoJ. Megan was the hostess when we arrived and was terrifically accommodating on our request for a table in a specific location. The service was excellent, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Everything tasted as beautifully as it looked. It's a wonderful place to go for a drink or dinner before the theater. My only less-than-enthusiastic comment was that the restaurant was very loud made worse by music playing way too loudly in my opinion. It makes it a challenge to have good conversation over dinner.More infoTrumbull Kitchen - HartfordPrice: Moderate• American• Hartford•4.6
