- BBillPalm Springs / Palm Desert Cities •16 reviews4.0Dined todayVery nice spot… Old Church vibe, with a bit of civil war nostalgia. We enjoyed the fried chicken and southern salad. Chicken was crispy n moist, but… $30.00 for 1/2 chicken? Some pickles and cornbread, but no sides? Salad was fresh and flavorful. Our server was very distracted, and likely wished we had gone somewhere else? Don’t think we would return. Too many other spots for great food and service in this lovely city!! - LLisaDallas - Fort Worth •8 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoGoogled a breakfast place and Virginia’s on King came up first. It did not disappoint. The food was fabulous, the service attentive, and the ambiance traditional Charleston. We will be back and bring friends. Highly recommend anything that comes with grits or get them on the side. Crab cakes were delicious, full of fresh flavor. I can’t say enough about the wait staff. Attentive without being stalkerish and just down home hospitality. Thanks VoK for a wonderful experience!More infoVirginia's on KingPrice: Moderate• Southern• Downtown Charleston•4.5
- KKatieSouth Carolina •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFirst up: Nathan. Fantastic hospitality, attentive and great personality. Worth his weight in gold. Second: if I only had one meal for the rest of my life it would be the current Wagyu Tartare on the menu. The kimchi Caesar??? Incredible. 12/10 I’m a Tartare girlie and that was the best. Second and a half: the tuna crudo. I’m so white Jalapeños are spicy to me, but that was a divine dish. Third: the hostess staff is efficient, warm and welcome. Bonus: they laughed with me not at me when I couldn’t figure out how to open the front door. All around great experience, thank you for knocking it out of the park.More infoThe EstablishmentPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• Downtown Charleston•4.8
- KKarenNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThe first thing that impressed us was the friendly and welcoming Staff. They greeted us and made us feel at home as soon as we entered the establishment. The ambiance is cozy, tasteful and comfortable: brick walls, plush leather, elegant table settings, fireplaces and dim lighting. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and were delighted when presented menus printed with “Happy Birthday” and the milestone age superimposed on them. They even said we could take them home as a souvenir. Such a thoughtful touch! Our waiter, Sam, couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. He was very friendly, informative and professional. He was also a great source of information on the menu and offered wonderful suggestions. He made us feel very special. The food was to die for! Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and amazingly delicious. The chef and kitchen staff are to be commended. The drinks were generous and made to perfection, as well. Mike does a great job of managing the place. He made sure we were satisfied with our experience and took the time to chat with us for a bit. All in all, we had a wonderful evening and highly recommend Oak Steakhouse.More infoOak Steakhouse - CharlestonPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Downtown Charleston•4.7
- FFrederickvipVirginia •113 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoThis is a terrific restaurant. The menu is quite basic, but everything is prepared expertly, and the staff is both welcoming and professional. Whenever we're in Charleston we never miss a visit. My faves are the local Low-Country seafood items and the filet. Again, a basic menu but all the bases are well covered. Oh... and that coconut cake. "Extraordinary" doesn't do it justice.More infoPeninsula GrillPrice: Very Expensive• American• Downtown Charleston•4.7
