Best American Restaurants in Cardiff By The Sea

Jake’s is so perfect for a special night! The food was great!! Started w a very generous and tasty crab cake (we shared and it was ample!) followed by a crisp and delish Ceasar salad and hubby had the chowder (it was “okay”) and then our entrees…soooo good…I had the halibut and it was flaky and fab…hubby had the crusted ahi which he thoroughly enjoyed! Our mai tai and old fashioned cocktails were awesome as well! Our server, Mike, was attentive and helpful! We were also delighted to have a card waiting for us at the table to wish us a Happy Anniversary and they treated us to Hula pie! 😋🤩👏🏻 Well done, Jake’s Team!!

Food was delicious as always. This time I tried the filet and grilled romaine salad. It was perfection and I’d definitely order it again! The others in our group enjoyed their choices as well. Service was fantastic!! I believe our server was Jordan (I’m awful with names) and she was simply excellent. Ambience is wonderful as well!

My girlfriend and I go there a lot. We usually split the Caesar salad, which is the best ever Caesar! Today we split the avocado toast. It was pretty bland for our taste. We usually think of avocado toast as having some sort of little kick, but this had none. Salt and pepper helped a little, then we asked for some aoli, which was chipotle mayo, which also helped. But we both decided that we wouldn’t order it again.

We sat outside where it was an absolutely beautiful day able to watch the ocean waves roll in. Our waitress, Tiffany, was incredibly hospitable and offered suggestions from the menu. The house salad with lemon vinagrette was a lovely starter. The Shrimp and Crab Linguini was beautiful in its presentation and absolutely delicious!! Both went well with the Sauvignon Blanc that was ordered. I can't wait to return here!

Our experience was great. We were seated by the window with a view of the ocean. The food was prepared to perfection. Simply a wonderful time.
