I would like to note that I let the server know of my gluten allergy and he explained all the options that were available gluten free. When the food was delivered, it was announced that my meal was gluten free twice! It made me feel great that everyone involved was well aware. The surroundings are beautiful and the food is always fresh and delicious. We have been here to Merriman’s in Kapalua several times and the food and service are consistently excellent. The beet salad is delicious! We had the special fish which was moist, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. It was a preparation I wouldn’t normally choose, but I’m trying to eat healthier and normally lentils with vegetables wouldn’t be my “go to”, but this was so flavorful and satisfying. We also had the ribeye special with the herbed butter. Again, a dish cooked perfectly with wonderful flavors. The mashed potatoes were the best I have ever enjoyed! Noah, checked in on us and our meal and was quite engaging and very fun. We enjoyed our meal and the beautiful ambiance of Traverna. It’s not to be missed when on Maui and we will be back soon! Then the scallops which were ok. It we didn’t like the sauce. Finally the fresh fish of the day. Opacapaca. That was amazing. For dessert we had the baked Maui.
