Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Borough

Ahhh you lovely Hawsmoor folks, you still maintain a really high standard. There's plenty of competition around these days but my heart is with you. The service was friendly, attentive and personable. You didn't constantly refill my wine glass, pushing wine hard happens in virtually every restaurant these days, I hate it. We have only two complaints, the seasonal (Christmas) Scotch Egg needed more seasoning, which was surprising because every other element was perfect. And we were kind of ignored at the end of our meal, we had to chase someone down for boxes and the bill and the attitude of the person we asked was a little… off… like we were an inconvenience.

Excellent service and great food, the ambiance/view is definitely what you are paying for though. For a special occasion or celebration this place would be a stellar option. The drinks were well balanced and crafted, though definitely expensive for what you get. All of our food was excellent, well prepared and a good portion. All of the pricing is certainly inflated, much like you paying for the experience more so than the product. All in all, if you are comfortable paying for the experience it is a memorable one.

Everything was absolutely amazing, the food, the teas, the view, the people working there. However we did not expect the 15% service charge to be added to the price. But be had a wonderful time and do not regret at all to have chosen the Shangri-La for our tea time in London.

Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We had the Sunday roast £25 offer which was good value for money and very tasty. The jazz singer was lovely too. The only thing is it gets incredibly noisy because of the high ceilings and industrial design. Would recommend though because of service and food.
