I started in my grandfather’s restaurant & worked my way up to running one of the most successful restaurants in NYC - Patsy’s Italian Restaurant. My grandfather worked his way up in the restaurant industry in the 1930's and '40s and in 1942 opened his first Italian restaurant, The Sorrento. It was our first visit to Medi-Bistro but will not be our last. We were a group of 11 for lunch on a Sunday and found it to be a delightful choice. Its central location in downtown White Plains with free parking in the garage made it very convenient. The ambiance is lovely—upscale but not stuffy. The food was amazing!! The stuffed vine leaves were a notch above the usual thanks to the pomegranate sauce, the grilled shrimp were excellent as were the hummus and the smoked eggplant spread. We tried a variety of main courses from chicken kabobs and lamb kabobs to roasted salmon and several stews—everything was excellent! At that point, we were pretty stuffed but we got several plates of baklava with Persian ice cream to share and were so glad we did!
