Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times. Lovely ambience & surroundings. Our servers Tyler and George, were professional, friendly and helpful. The drinks menu was extensive with a good choice but on the expensive side. Thought we were in London for a minute!!! Overall we enjoyed our experience but didn’t order too many drinks.

Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, from the second we arrived at the door until the second we left. We ordered the tasting menu and each dish was explained on delivery to the table. The food was unmistakably fresh, and perfectly cooked and presented. We each ordered a scallop as an extra and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The ambience was very relaxed and added to a wonderful evening. This restaurant has got it just right. It is not inexpensive, but we both left having had a very positive and enjoyable evening with exceptional food and staff. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you to all at Higher Ground.

What an amazing restaurant. Serving 5* food right on our door step in Prestwich. Sam the owner was very accommodating as we only eat white fish and vegetarian options and he sorted it out so we could have cod. The place is small but cosy. Only 26 covers. The place was full but there was a great cosy atmosphere. It was buzzing. The service was excellent. It wasn't cheap but we were there celebrating our friends birthday. It is worth the cost. We would really love to return in the future.
