Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Imperial Beach

Absolutely loved the energy and warmth of the restaurant! The dinner was outstanding. Extremely flavorful and creative, my only suggestion to make the dining experience top tier would be stronger dessert options. The servers were extremely helpful in making quality decisions, very attentive. Upon entering the restaurant would love a little more energy from hosts but doesn’t take away from the incredible atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back! Thing I found my new favorite restaurant.

We were only in San Diego for 24 hours, and Animae was the perfect foodie destination for our short trip. Chef Tara’s menu masterfully stays true to Filipino flavors while elevating them in a way that feels both nostalgic and exciting. Every dish was beautifully executed, and the balance of flavors was impeccable. Our server, Chenise, made the experience even more memorable. She was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. She kept the pacing and coursing of our meal just right, ensuring we could fully enjoy each dish without feeling rushed. The cocktails were another highlight - both inventive and perfectly balanced. Each drink complemented the food beautifully, and we could absolutely see ourselves coming back just to sit at the bar and work our way through the cocktail menu. From start to finish, Animae delivered on every level—food, service, and ambiance. If you’re looking for a truly special dining experience in San Diego, this is it. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Great food, service and experience. It is pricey but so good! I’ll keep going to Nobu SD! It was slightly noisy but it does not change my very positive experience! The food was amazing. My son loved it and it was his first time sushi experience. I have set the bar too high! It is a must go to for sushi place with so many other great dishes!

One of the best meals we’ve had start to finish!!! Everything was creative and amazing!! The combination of flavors and textures was superb! Portions are perfect too!! Highly highly recommend!!
