Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Downingtown

I have been to brookside several times and always leave satisfied. And mio was very good and my table mates enjoyed their meal. Also. Our server was very good, quite professional. I have Celiac and I'm always concerned that I will have cross-contamination issues but I've been fine every time. Thank you.

Our first time and did not disappoint. Our server was excellent, attentive but not overly so. The bar drinks were nice sized, what you would expect from a top tier steak house. Our food was prepared the way we requested. You'd be surprised what passes for "medium rare" these days. Side portions were shareable for 4. There were 6 of us but not everyone wanted each side so it worked out fine for us. The one dessert ordered was delicious, group effort. Goid time had by all. Will recommend to friends and a return visit is in the future.

DK is a favorite, especially wonderful for special occasions. The many small dining rooms are lovely, fireplaces cozy, and bar bright and lively. Tonight’s dinner was beautifully presented, the flavors wonderful: scallops with shaved Brussels and bacon jam, filet mignon, beet salad, cappuccino chocolate truffle dessert, and as always pop-overs with lemon curd. Service friendly and professional. Top Notch!

The food was nice and hot and the service was great!

We visited Iron Hill at 6pm on a Saturday night and were seated in the dining room. We made a reservation which was helpful because we were seated rather quickly. It was very busy that night and the acoustics in the dining room make it a loud environment when it’s packed. It can be hard to hear each other if you have a large group around you. Our server, Andrew, was down to earth and knowledgeable. He did not rush us and answered all of our questions about the beer and food menu. We ordered a few beers, the hummus appetizer, Margherita Pizza, OMG blt and the chocolate hill dessert. We never received our hummus but Andrew took this off the bill once our main food arrived. The kitchen looked overloaded and so did the staff. Our meals were amazing! I like the twist on the BLT adding the pepperoni with the mozz and pesto-mayo with balsamic glaze. Yum! The dessert - eh, not so much. The brownies seemed old and dry and we could not even cut into them with our spoons. We will skip next time. Overall it was a decent experience with yummy food and a wonderful server. If you’re looking for a quiet location to eat or have someone hard of hearing, this is not the place. Def recommend making reservations on the weekends!
