High quality Italian. Nothing fancy, but excellent preparation and huge portions. Excellent, professional service. Lovely outdoor seating.

We came in with no expectations and was blown away by the service, the ambiance, and the food! Our lovely waitress was very attentive and checked on us frequently but not excessively. From the starters and drinks to dinner and our dessert - which I made sure to fit in, all were perfectly portioned. We can't wait to return again for the great hospitality and to try the other dishes!

We were staying across the street at the Westin Hapuna and we’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant. Less to choose from in the Kohala area than we thought. Engawa is located across the street a short, five minute walk very convenient. The couple that manages and runs the Omakase experience is very enjoyable very authentic really a lot of fun . They are the ONLY sake Brewery in Hawaii. Thanks small craft beer, sucking style. Omakase menu was delightful with a broad array of flavors and taste all for quality We added the sake pairings. Try it!

Closed due to maintenance, unfortunately. Hopefully they can block reservations and update their google profile during the closure because getting our large party there to find it closed with no notice was disappointing and it was a struggle to find another reservation elsewhere :/
