Best Casual Restaurants in Sandy Hook

8pm on Valentines Day. Restaurant was fully booked. Seated at around 8:15. Everything there is top notch, as was the service on this very busy day. Nona’s Sunday Supper is a must have, pear salad, fried oysters as an app were to die for. Beef Wellington was superb. Accompanied by a great bottle of wine and finish with pistachio cream pie with a cappuccino. Many restaurants will be so busy at this time that service, meals, cuts of meat can feel lacking. Sal e Pepe hit the mark on all counts. As with any top notch restaurants, there is a premium in price, but this place is not to be missed.

Four of us went to Market Place in Newtown for a much-needed Ladies Night Out. The drinks were delicious, we all enjoyed our meals immensely (2 bowls, salmon and short ribs) and the two wait staff who attended to our table were attentive, but not intrusive. Most importantly, being a Ladies Night Out, we never once felt rushed or like we were being pushed out. The evening was perfect with great food and drink, great conversations and great friends - Oh - and the Salted Caramel cake is not to be missed! Market Place will definitely be added to our regular rotation.

We were there on a Friday night — it was hopping! The food was very good and very fresh-tasting. They took awhile to bring my entree out after a everyone else had been served (and apologized for it), but other than that it was a perfect evening. I plan to make this my new go-to Mexican restaurant!

We enjoyed a absolutely delicious meal, This Restaurant has an excellent Menu, an outstanding cocktail menu, and great ambiance. We went on a Thursday evening and had very good service, however from what I have heard you may need to allow extra time for service on Friday and Saturday nights when they are busy. I would say the food is worth any lack of fast service My advice is to immediately order a cocktail or glass of wine and an appetizer so if they are very busy when you order your meal you can sit back an enjoy your time there. We loved their choice of music and everyone was very friendly. We WILL go back.

We love the Foundry. Service had some hiccups at the bar but our server was in communication with us. Had really good meals— everyone raved. Nice evening, thank you.
